Holiday Fat Loss Strategies

November December is a difficult period of fat loss with an average weight gain of about 4-5 kg during the festive season. Don't get caught unaware, and prepare by using these three strategies to mitigate the blowout.


  • Tip 1

At the gatherings, be the one to bring the healthy dish. This can be lean protein and greens as opposed to marshmallows and sugar. Have lots of vegetable dishes low calories, and this will at least give you some healthier options,


  • Tip 2

Fast before and after the main meal and enjoy it. I'm not a big fan of fasting, but in this instance, I think it is appropriate as the calories will far be above what is usually consumed. Especially during special occasions such as Christmas, you want to enjoy the food with family, which will mean you will have to let go and indulge. However, this will mean you will have to make up for the calorie excess the next day.


  • Tip 3

Implement an order of operations for eating. This may sound silly, but start the meal with the proteins first, vegetables second, and starches third. The reason being is that all these foods are highly satiating and will fill you up very quickly, preventing binging. If you have any more space in the stomach left over, you can indulge in the savory treats.
